Micah Tyler Burdette, 20, of St. Albans, passed away September 9, 2014. He was born in South Charleston on Mother’s Day, May 8, 1994 to his proud parents, Denny and Teresa Sanders Burdette. Micah graduated with St. Albans High School Class of 2013. He played football and baseball, both of which he loved. He also spent one year with the acting class. Micah won the “Best All Around Male Student” at McKinley Junior High in 6th grade. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Kathy F. (Wendell) Burdette; great-grandparents, Villard and Ruby Sias, Vera Burdette, Ada Wendell, Harrison Wendell and Benjamin A. Childers ; and great-aunts, Brenda (Childers) Priddy and Marie (Childers) Mozzetti. Micah is survived by his mother, Teresa Marie Sanders of St. Albans; father, Denny Burdette and his wife, Michelle, of South Charleston; stepfather, Charles McCoy and his wife, Leora, of St. Albans; grandparents, Roger and Rosemary Sias of Alum Creek and Dennis and Cindy Burdette of South Charleston, and Jimmy and Carrie Miller of South Charleston; brothers, Isaac Brandon Burdette, Adrian Nathaniel Burdette and Chaz and Mein McCoy all of St. Albans; sisters, Marissa Lynn Adele Banks of Alum Creek, Ella McCoy and Alexandria Martin both of St. Albans; loving aunts and uncles, Robin Hunter (Steve) of Pinch, Roger Sias (Michelle) of Goldtown, Melissa Weddington (Rusty) of Yawkey, Rachel Scantlin (Matt) of Teays Valley, Benjamin Sias of Alum Creek, Frannie Pauley of Alum Creek, Connie Dobbs (Scott) of Hurricane, Crystal McCoy of Sod, Christopher Burdette of So. Carolina and Rachel Burdette of So. Charleston; 20 cousins and six great-cousins. “Our lives will never be the same without you. The only thing that will get us through is knowing you are smiling down upon us each and every day.” A celebration of Micah’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Pastor Kenny Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
