

Larry F. Ennis, 70, of St. Albans, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born Jan. 12, 1946 in St. Albans, the son of Basil and Wilda Faye Ennis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Basil Keith Ennis and Roger Dale Ennis, and half-brothers, Floyd Ennis and Jimmy Ennis. Larry was a U.S. Army veteran and former POW. He will be remembered for being an absolute true friend and giving person. He loved playing pool, NASCAR and was an avid WVU fan. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Mary Humphreys Ennis; son, Darrell Ennis and his wife, Amy, of Salt Rock; grandchildren, Heather Ennis, Britney Ennis, Joseph Ferguson, Andy Ennis and Emily Amesbury of Fraziers Bottom, who he raised and loved as his own daughter; stepson, Isaac Randolph of Ripley; brothers, Delmar Ennis of St. Albans and David Ennis of Cedar Grove; sister, Sandra "Sonnie" Gross of Oak Hill; great-grandchildren, Ada, Denzil, Torsten and Braxton on the way; and 18 step-grandchildren. Celebration of Larry’s life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans, with H.R. Whittington, Celebrant officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with military graveside rites to be conducted by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73. Gathering of family and friends will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
