James Clinton Hoskinson, 93, of St. Albans, made the journey for his angel wings October 12, 2016. He was born September 29, 1923, in Clark County, Ill., where he was raised on a farm. He graduated from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Engineering after serving in the Army Air Corps as a flight navigator. He retired from Union Carbide. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, St. Albans for over 55 years, where he served as a Deacon, Elder, Trustee, Sunday School teacher and in various other capacities. His favorite activities were golfing, bowling, bicycling, short-wave radio, computing, bridge and travel. He was a member of the American Legion. At the age of 93, he had the longest life span in his family. In addition to his parents, Isaiah and Evelina Drake Hoskinson, James was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Helen E. Hoskinson. James is survived by his children, Susan L. Hooper (John) of Big Chimney, Nancy Curran (Ben Lemarier) of St. Albans and Stephen Hoskinson (Kim) of St. Albans; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; three nieces; and one nephew. A celebration of James’ life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 15, at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Kanawha Terrace, St. Albans with Chaplain Catherine Weed officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to thank his excellent caregivers, Cindy Lemarier, Mary "Mimi" Kidd, Margie Jordan (deceased), Bobbie Ballard and Norma Hedrick.
