He was born April 25, 1936 in Smithers, the son of John and Helen Chapman Burke. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, daughter, Erika Burke and his beloved dogs, Harley and Jim.
Jack was plant operator for FMC and employed with West Virginia State Police. He loved spending time at the family camp in Summers County while waging war on the local bass population. Many hours were spent aimlessly floating in his john boat while the fished laughed at his futile attempts to lure them in. When not fishing, he was an avid reader. He enjoyed amassing knowledge…that he would happily share with you. His favorite topics were the Civil War and the land of his forefathers, Ireland.
He is survived by his children, Vickie Harris (David), of Annville, PA, Jack T. Burke, JR., of Columbus, OH, grandchildren, Chad and David and 4 great grandchildren.
And with honoring his wishes there will be no services held.
