Quinton Young, 81, of Dunbar, passed away after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at the Hubbard Hospice House West with his loving wife and daughter by his side. He was born October 15, 1933, in Charleston, WV, the youngest son of the late Robert E., Sr., and Mary E. Young. In addition to his parents, Quinton was predeceased by sister, Betty R. Duncan and brother, Robert E. Young, Jr. Quinton was a 1953 graduate of Dunbar High School and proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1996, he retired from Union Carbide/Rhone Poulenc with thirty-eight years’ service; family and golf were his greatest passions. Quinton is survived by Barbara, his devoted wife of 61 years; daughter, Jill Linkenauger (Timothy) of Cross Lanes; grandsons: Timothy (TJ) and Jared Linkenauger both of Cross Lanes; and, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Dunbar United Methodist Church, 1401 Myers Avenue, Dunbar, followed by a celebration of Quinton’s life in the church activity building. Inurnment will be at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
