Gracie Maxine Pernell

Our beloved mother, Gracie Maxine Pernell, 85, of Hurricane, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 3, 2016. Praise the Lord for blessing us with such a kind, loving, and wonderful mother. She was born Jan. 19, 1931 In Kanawha County, WV, a daughter of the late Dexter and Bonnie Painter Parsons. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Lawrence Pernell, Sr. and three brothers and one sister. Maxine was a retired LPN from Thomas Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Pernell Jones (Lloyd Chapman) of Eleanor and Terry Pernell Williams (Wendell) of Cross Lanes; two sons, Lawrence Pernell, Jr. (Christy) of Navarre, FL and Jerry Pernell (Tammi) of Crossville, TN; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Wed., at 1 p.m. at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes with Pastor Randy Parsons, Maxine’s nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
