To all who knew him, Glenn was a caring, compassionate soul who never knew a stranger and was always willing to help his fellow man. Glenn leaves behind Diana L. Pauley, his loving wife of 46 years with whom he shared so many wonderful years of marriage, his loving son Kevin Pauley and his wife Tara, his beloved grandson Cameron Pauley, who truly was the light of his life, his dear brother Steve Pauley and his wife Pam, his sister-in-law Paula Sayre, his brother-in-law David Jones and his wife Marcie, his sister-in-law Tammy Casto and her husband Mike, along with nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Lois Pauley, and by his grandson, Jordan Taylor Pauley.
He was a loyal public servant, having worked at the WV Department of Motor Vehicles for 42 years. He took great pride in being able to help his fellow West Virginians. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #202, where he enjoyed helping unfortunate children through the lodge’s many special activities.
Those who knew Glenn knew that he loved playing golf any chance he had and that he truly loved taking his annual trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with family and friends. His neighbors on Wilson Avenue also knew he loved to simply sit on the porch and talk with them about the day. Everyone who knew him would agree that his booming voice could fill a stadium and his laughter could be heard for miles. Glenn would tell you that all a day needed to be a great one was the chance to talk and laugh with his family and friends.
Glenn will be missed by so many, as anyone who met Glenn became his friend. Glenn leaves his family and friends a lifetime of wonderful memories that no one could replace. Whether you were one of his neighbors on Wilson Avenue, a co-worker at the DMV, a friend from high school, or lucky enough to be a member of his family, know that Glenn appreciated every moment he had with you, as we all appreciated every moment we had to spend with him. His love and friendship truly knew no bounds.
