

George Edward Wright went home to be with the Lord after a long illness. George was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ivy Wright, brothers, David and Perry, all of McClure, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Beulah; daughter, Brenda and her husband Robert of Dunbar; son, Brian and his wife Debra of West Hamlin; and son, Stephen and his wife Linda of Maryville, Tenn.; four grandchildren: Jason of Dunbar, Brittany Kirk of Winfield, Heather Johnson of Charlotte, N.C., and Lauren Church of Maryville; three great-grandchildren: Katie Wright, Logan and Emily Kirk; sisters, Faye Shipe of Lewistown, Pa., Stella Wright of McVeytown, Pa.; brothers, Harold and Richard of McClure; and brother, Palmer of Lewisburg, Pa.; and a host of nieces and nephews. George served in the U.S. Army in WWII in Landsburg, Germany, where he served as a corporal in the 332nd Engineer Regiment. He received an honorable discharge in April of 1947. He worked for various construction companies throughout his working years as a Gradall operator. He was a longtime member of the Dunbar Church of the Nazarene. He was a wonderful father and husband, faithful and hard working. He will be missed by all. Celebration of George's life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with H.R. Whittington as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Cemetery, Garretts Bend, with Military Graveside Rites to be conducted by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73. Gathering of family and friends will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
