Frederic Emmerson Jones

FREDERICK EMMERSON JONES, 78, of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, crossed over to be with his savior on March 30, 2023. Fred was born on November 16, 1944, to the late John Will and Sallie Barbour Jones. Fred was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church.

Fred was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and a kind friend to all who knew him. Fred’s life was fulfilled by the love he had for his family and friends. Fred and Jannet together had 25 grandchildren and over 30 great-grandchildren. Fred and his kind gestures, such as his daily text messages and phone calls to his loved ones, will be deeply missed.

Fred is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jannet Faye Jones; his brothers Harry Jones of Mt. Vernon, NY, Wayne Jones of Crystal Hill, VA, and Addie Jones of Crystal Hill, VA; his sisters Barbara Jones of San Antonio, TX and Alice Faye Forman of Staten Island, NY; his sons Gary Jones of Charlotte, NC and Steven Jones (Erica) of Mansfield, TX; and his step children Fay Arbaugh (Gary) of South Point, OH, Daniel Fisher (Mandy) of Canton GA, and Sue Houck (Robert) of Cross Lanes, WV.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his brother Robert Henry Barbour.

A “Celebration of Fred’s Life” will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Cross Lanes Baptist Church, 102 Knollwood Drive, Cross Lanes, WV. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
