He was born September 5, 1943 in Charleston, the son of Rollin and Ilah Rice Barnett whom preceded him in death.
Sherm was retired from Union Carbide with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed working with cars and the outdoors. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend that will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty, son, Heath Barnett, daughters, Heather Bays (Paul), and Anissa Barnett, granddaughter, Lauren Trail, brothers, Charles and Howard Barnett, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Sherm’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
