He was born December 12, 1967 in West Hamlin, the son of Shearlie Maynard-McCaughey, of Ripley, OH and the late Denver Maynard.
Clint was a member of the WV National Guard Unit 3664 Maintance Co., Eleanor and a former member of Unit 2/19 Special Forces BN, Kenova. He served four tours in Iraq, and Afghanistan. He was an avid outdoorsman, a handyman, and a friend to all he met.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his daughter, Ashley Victoria Maynard, of Huntington, brother, Cliff Ray Maynard, of Vancouver, WA, step-father, James “Tim” McCaughey, step brother, Timothy A. McCaughey, of Ripley, OH, Robert Ryan McCaughey, of Seattle, WA, step sisters, Ellen R. Dwer, of Georgetown, OH, Gina Huff, of Mount Washington, OH and his National Guard Family.
Celebration of Clint’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Chaplain Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial Cemetery, Institute.
Gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
