She was born October 19, 1933 in Gallipolis, OH, the daughter of John and Chestina Ferguson Evans. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Gene.
Barbara attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church and worked for AVI Food Systems. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Anderson, and Carolyn Young (Donnie), 3 grandchildren, great grandchildren, Dalton, Sydney, and Braxton, brother, William David Evans (Norma Jean), several nieces, nephews, her caregiver and friend Robin Mitchell and her favorite kitty “Mittens”.
Celebration of Barbara’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Celebrant HR Whittington presiding.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
The family would like to give their sincere thanks and appreciation to Hospice for the care and support.
