Anita Ruby Smith, 64, of St. Albans, passed away March 9, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House West after a short illness. She was born January 27, 1953 in Hinton and was a daughter of James and Leoma Forren Adkins, both whom preceded her in death. Anita was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and a volunteer for the American Heart Association. She loved quilting, camping, fishing and the outdoors, especially the beach at Cape Hatteras. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Thorl Smith Jr.; two sons, James Smith of St. Albans and Christopher Smith at home; brother, Ernest Adkins; sisters, Lulu Adkins, Geneva Brown, Mary Field, Tina Livingston and ; and grandchildren, Morgan Smith and Dareian Smith A celebration of Anita’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2017 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Chaplain Letari Thompson officiating.
