Patsy Lou Leiby

Born February 9, 1935 in Peoria to Henry J. and D. Maneva (Crawford) Rebholz, she married Everett David Leiby on June 6, 1953 in Peoria. He died November 17, 2000. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one beloved son-in-law, Lony Shawgo; three sisters, Margie Rebholz, Joan Murphy and Arline Petty and her cherished brothers-in-law.

Surviving are three sons, Mark Leiby of Peoria, Troy (Harriette) Leiby of Cape Coral, Florida and Jeff Leiby of Creve Coeur; three daughters, Sheree Shawgo of Cape Coral, Florida, Dawn (Dale) Kirby of Creve Coeur and Hope (Kelly) Schulze of East Peoria; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dolores Reatherford of Creve Coeur and many cherished nieces and nephews.

A homemaker, her most cherished job was raising and spending time with her six children. Patsy loved to knit, shop and travel. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she always made a big deal of it and made it fun for her family.

She enjoyed boating and was an avid bowler in earlier years. She also loved working in her yard, gardening and doing puzzles with family.

Patsy was a member of Summit Nazarene Church in Washington, where she enjoyed the women's group and fellowshipping there. She loved the study of the Bible and the music of the Church.

Her memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Summit Nazarene Church in Washington. Pastor Gretta Nash will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
