Born June 23, 1951 in Peoria, Linda was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Pauline Goodman.
Linda married the love of her life, George “Mike” Thornhill on May 28, 1969 in Bloomington. They shared 43 years of marriage and together they had three children, which were her greatest achievement.
Surviving are her loving son, Brian (Elaine) Thornhill of East Peoria; one granddaughter, Michelle Leigh of East Peoria; one step-daughter, Stacy (Allen) Fuller of South Pekin; one brother, Mike (Debbie) Goodman of Danville and one niece, Kristi (Mark) Whitehurst of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Pauline Goodman; her husband, Mike; one daughter, Michelle Lee Thornhill and one son, Steven M. Thornhill.
Linda had worked as a waitress and bartender for many years. She was proud to have served many people on the Spirit of Peoria for 20-plus years.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and playing bingo. She also could be found looking after her plants and talking to her cousin, Chris about different plants and gardens.
Linda was a beautiful soul who never knew a stranger. Her family was always her first priority. She always strived to be there and support them and welcome everyone she met.
She will missed by so many.
Her memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Danny Severns will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
