Born April 21, 1952 in Palestine to Russell and Irene Stevens, she married Garry Lower on September 19, 1974 in Peoria.
Surviving is her husband of 49 years; one daughter, Melissa (Rick) Mock of Florida; one son, Danny (Patty) Stevens of Peoria; four step-sons, Chuck (Connie) Lower of Pekin, Garry (Sadie) Natale of Italy, Tom (Liz) Lower of Florida and Chris (Michelle) Natale of Georgia; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters; four brothers and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Stevens.
Joyce worked for over 20 years as a certified nursing assistant, working mainly with memory care patients.
In her free time she enjoyed fishing and camping.
There will be no services. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Inurnment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
