CREVE COEUR ~ James “Jim” Gene Turner, 76, of Potosi, Missouri, passed away at 5:32 a.m. Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri.
Born September 30, 1947 in Peoria to Harry and Vonee Lou (Farris) Turner, Jr., he married Eulelia Simmons in 1978 in Indiana. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Crystal Rene Turner, Jimmy (Tara) Turner of Creve Coeur and Nanka Sophia Turner of Pekin; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army, where he had served two tours of duty.
Private inurnment will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
