He was born November 25, 1953 to Edward and Betty (Carstens) Dehler in Libertyville. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Mike, who passed just 6 days before Carl.
He is survived by daughter, Jackey (Frank) Theriault of Clearwater, Florida; one son, Kevin Underwood Dehler of Waukegan; granddaughter, Ella Theriault and grandson, Frankie Theriault of Clearwater, Florida, former wife and mother of Jackey, Ellen Hanson of Clearwater, Florida; aunt, Marilyn Carstens and her family of Florida. His cousin, Jon Dehler and his family of Billings, Montana; a special family friend, Sheryl Delaney and her family, and his close classmates he graduated with from Libertyville High School in 1972.
Carl worked for his cousin, Jon, as a carpenter by trade in Billings, Montana. More recently, he was a tie-dye artist and leather and jewelry crafter as well as a Personal Assistant for Mikey Venn of Creve Coeur. Carl and Sheryl were Volunteers for Peo-Taz Abate of Illinois Chapter for 2 years handling their Official Merchandise at the Grand Nationals. He was a member at the Farmington Moose Family Center #1571.
Carl was "The Tie Dye Guy" with the long beard for the last 10 years during the Spoon River Drive. Carl was also an avid gardener.
Carl accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior on May 18, 2018.
He was a donor with Gift of Hope in Springfield.
A celebration of life will be held at the Farmington Moose #1571 during the Spring Spoon River Drive 2022, on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 1 to 3 p.m., also a memorial for Carl will be displayed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside Carl and Sheryl’s Tie Dye Tent. The funeral will be at Necedah, Wisconsin Cemetery on June 11, 2022.
