Born December 20, 1961, he was the son of Darrell Dean and Wanda Marie (Justice) Snyder. His parents and one sister, Cynthia Snyder, preceded him in death.
Surviving are one sister, Teresa Snyder of East Peoria and her son, Derek Crebo of Morton; one brother, Roy Dean Snyder of Springfield; two half-sisters, Lori Snyder and Ginger Snyder, both of Roodhouse.
Alan served in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1988 and had attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He knew how to use a chainsaw and was a lumberjack for many years in the areas of Oakford, Petersburg and Rushville.
Alan was sociable and had an easy going personality. He liked animals was fond of his cat, Davey.
Private inurnment will be in Kilbourne Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangement have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
