Evelyn Tileston

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at St. Mark’s Church of Grace in Craig. Father Bain White will preside. Interment will follow at the Craig Cemetery.

Mary Eveyln Hafner was born May 11, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles and Sallie Calahan Hafner. She attended the University of Cincinnati obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 1960. In 1963, Evelyn met and married Gordon Tileston in Cincinnati. She spent her working years as director of The Independent Life Center in Craig, an agency for individuals with disabilities. She was an avid volunteer for the Senior Center in Craig and was known for her gift of grant writing. Evelyn was a devout member of St. Mark’s Church of Grace in Craig and was a proud member of the church choir.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Charles (Michelle) Tileston, of Grand Junction, CO; her sister, Donna (Larry) Fiely, of Celina, OH; and four nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 2014 and her sister Barbara.
