Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Craig Cemetery.
Cameron was born June 24, 1997, in Aurora, CO to Diane (Earle) and Cedric Martin.
He moved to Craig with his mother and older brother, Casey in 1998.
Diane married Rich King on April 17, 1999, and they settled at the family ranch just south of Craig where Cameron grew up. He spent his childhood years with his wonderful brothers and sister, developing a love for learning and a passion for music very early on in his life.
Cameron participated in band and excelled academically throughout his school years, graduating with honors from Moffat County High School in 2015. He then continued his musical studies at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, again graduating in the top five percent of his class in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition and Sound Design. Cameron’s entire family enjoyed watching his talent develop throughout his life, from playing the clarinet in elementary school, to composing his own music as an adult.
Cameron’s desire to learn continued after he achieved his BA degree, and he was working on a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder at the time of his passing. He also spent many hours assisting with technical sound support and systems at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Craig.
He is survived by his parents, Virgil Richard and Diane King of Craig and Cedric Martin of Arizona; his grandparents, Leon and Rose (Vallejos) Earle of Craig; his 105- year-old great-grandmother, Florela Vallejos of Bosque, NM; his older brother and sister-in-law Casey (Kaci) Meek-Martin, and their children, Nikolai and Aubrielle, of Castle Rock; his younger brother Carlin King of Craig; and his younger sister Cayden King of Craig.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dick and Jane King of Craig.
Cameron was a grandson, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and dear friend. His entire family will dearly miss his kindness, his music, his enthusiasm for fireworks and amusement park rides, and challenging his siblings in all games, whether electronic or board games. We’ll miss his smile and laughter that radiated love most of all.
