Archie James Seals

Jim was born on July 5, 1945 in McCook, Nebraska to Archie and Mary Seals. He graduated from Moffat County High School in 1963 and joined the Air FOrce in 1964, He was stationed in Thailand and Vietnam where he was a Avionics Instrument System Specialist. Jim was honorably discharged from the military in October of 1968. Jim married Suzanne Seely from Parma, Idaho on June 14, 1969. Jim and Suzanne moved to Moscow, Idaho where Jim pursued a degree in Business Finance at the University of Idaho.

Jim had several management positions in retail, including Fleischli Oil in Craig, CO. Jim and Suzanne returned to Idaho in 1994 and purchased two retail stores from Suzanne's parents. In 2018 they sold the business and retired.

Jim loved to play golf, hunt, and camp with family and friends and especially enjoyed teaching his five grandchildren to ride the kid's 4-wheels and about gun safety.

Jim is survived by his wife, Suzanne Seals; a daughter, Jamie Seals McElvenny; a son, Jeff Seals (Kolleen); and his grandchildren, Quinlin McElvenny, Evelyn McElvenny, Jacob Seals, Austin Seals, and Dylan Seals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Mary Seals; sisters, Jeanie Farr, Genevieve Scarlett, Patricia Mitchell, Mary Jane Folsom, and Shirley Seely.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2023 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 678 School Street, Craig, CO. A meal will be served after the service. There will be a rosary said at Grant Mortuary at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 3, 2023

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a memorial contribution to the Mighty Oaks Foundation.
