An athlete in his younger years, Walter played quarterback in high school and remained very fit and active throughout his life. He began his career as a contractor, building and renovating houses in Louisiana and Florida. Walter loved boating and was happiest being on the water. He later turned that passion into a career as a Captain, chartering fishing boats. Walter enjoyed spending much of his free time on the boat, and having a good time with his friends and family. Walter was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Diana Gail Stanley and Kristen Stanley. Walter’s love and devotion was visible to all. He loved deeply with his whole heart. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18th at 2:00pm at The Columbia Street Landing.
