Tommy is survived by his son, Noah Scott Tregre and grandson Colin Matthew Tregre.
Tommy was preceded in death by his son, Russ Paul Tregre, parents, Elmore W. Tregre and May Cecile Tregre Sicard and his brothers, Donny and Bill Tregre.
Tommy was born March 12,1941 in Reserve, LA and graduated from Leon Godchaux High School in 1959. Tommy eventually made his way to the John H. Carter Company in Metairie, LA. He was hired on April 13, 1966, at the age of 25 and worked for the company for 56 years until he retired, at the age of 81, on December 31, 2022. Tommy holds the distinction of being the longest tenured employee of the company.
Tommy will be greatly missed by all those fortunate enough to have crossed his path in life. He was gentle, kind, and thoughtful, had a warm heart and a quick sense of humor, and was always willing to assist his friends, neighbors, customers and to mentor his younger peers. Tommy was a devout Catholic and truly a man of humble heart. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved fishing and hunting with best friend from grammar school, Teddy Brady. A resident of Lacombe, LA for the last eight years, Tommy never missed any of the many social events on Main Street and was a founding, and cherished member, of the Bayou Lacombe Port Commission. Tommy was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed all sports especially, football, basketball and golf. He was a Saints fan and a Pelicans fan, but his world revolved around his beloved LSU Tigers, regardless of the sport.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tommy's funeral services on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church, located at 1550 Highway 44, Reserve, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 o'clock a.m. The recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:30 o'clock a.m. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Father Ray Hymel, will begin at 11:00 o'clock a.m.
Tommy's burial at St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery, adjacent to the church, will follow the Funeral Mass under the direction and care of Grace Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Tommy may be mailed to St. Peter Catholic Church,1550 Hwy 44, Reserve, La.70084.
