I am so sorry to hear your loss Darlene Rheams-Dellafosse

These are the times I remember Terri the most. She loved my kids, her cousins, so much. She loved being with grandma and grandpa. You never think things would change so much. With all the loss Mom and dad, JR., Steven and Caleb you think you could never handle it. But the grace of God was with us the whole way. Jesus told us “my grace is all you need”. So true!

Mom, Marion, gathered the Heberts and family to celebrate our  March birthdays with delicious cake. Terri loved being the birthday girl. This was our last celebration out all together. Terri was always happiest together with her family.  

With all those candles to blow out, Terri was glad to have her Uncle Brian co-share.

This was a  2021 dinner out for Terri’s birthday. Her uncle Brian shares a March birthday with Terri. She was delighted for him to sit next to her to also share the candles and pictures.

Terri was my only girl cousin until Amber arrived, and she saved me from the torment of the boys at family gatherings. For that, I am forever grateful! 

She introduced me to Grease, starring her man, John Travolta. I remember dancing around Terri's bedroom to "Greased Lightning" and having no idea what the song meant but loving every minute of it. We also danced together at parades every Mardi Gras as the bands and dance teams passed. At parades, Terri also ran up to floats and asked for keychains to add to her enormous collection, and the rest of the family knew that any keychain thrown our way would become part of Terri's collection as well. Terri was never shy about letting people know what she loved and what she wanted, and I admired that about her.

Growing up, Terri and I spent a lot of time together and often had sleepovers at her house, where I got to play with her dog DD and learned how to make Kraft mac and cheese. Once, Terri also tried to teach me how to make beignets, but that did not go well. I accidentally set the apartment on fire, and Terri and I had to run outside in our pajamas and ask a neighbor to call 911. (Sorry, Aunt Marion!) As I got older, Terri also taught me about boys when I asked and ended up getting in a bit of trouble for that. (Sorry, Terri!)

As I got older, I became more aware of Terri’s struggles as she would remind me that she was "slow." Yet, what I remember about her time in school was watching her sit at the table with a notebook, determined to write every letter perfectly and spell everything correctly. I also recall her reading aloud to us and seeing how proud she was to show us all what she could do. Eventually, Terri got a job at a fast-food restaurant, a license and a car, and her own apartment. I knew these were all big accomplishments for her, and I was so happy for her (and me because she could drive me around!)

Terri, I regret that we grew apart and wish we’d had more time together. I love and miss you, my cousin!



My memories of Terri are all happy ones.  She was one sharp & wise young woman with a sweet, loving & forgiving spirit. I remember her always-happy hopeful attitude in spite of challenges that would have sent most of us into hiding from life.
One incident was at Opryland Hotel's garden. As we wandered through "oooing & aaahing" the beautiful plants and flowers, she tripped and skinned her knee.  We sought out a Band-Aid from the restaurant hostess but a very handsome waiter took the Band-Aid and gently administered first-aid.  Terri was blushing & simply glowing. I'll never forget her beautiful face that day! Another time when Marion, Louis and Terri came to TN escaping a hurricane. Terri made phone calls to check on her apartment. She was so efficient dealing with whomever she contacted! I told her that if I ever got in trouble, I wanted her on my side!
Who cannot admire Terri for the way she handled life! She was (and memories of her are) an inspiration which is impossible to match.

Marion and I have been married for over 27 years and I remember back to then when Terri was Marion's Maid of Honor in our wedding.  Terri always treated me nicely and always called me "Dad".  She and I got closer over the years as her handicap situation got worse.  I always enjoyed going to pick up Terri and taking her and Marion to eat at Copeland's.  Terri enjoyed this so much, but she would always say "I miss our family get-togethers".  I always thought Terri was very beautiful.  Now she is in Heaven with her Grandparents.  We miss you immensely, Terri.

Some of my favorite memories of Terri were when we watched Mardi Gras parades in front of Mom and Dad’s apartment- she loved the music and couldn’t resist doing a little dance when the bands and dance groups marched by.  Her smile was contagious. Love and miss you Terri 💗

I came into the family after Terri was grown and came to love her very much.  Like everyone says, it was easy to put a smile on her face.  She loved her family so much and the one thing she wanted to do was to spend time with them.   She loved it when we all got together and visited. We love you, Terri, and we will see you again.

Even though she had so many physical problems to deal with during her life, she always had a smile on her face and was her happiest when she was with family and listening to her uncles play music and sing.

She will be desperately missed.

She sure loved her family. Terri lived a life that was lacking in material things but rich with love for her family. Family gatherings were her highlight in life. It was easy to make her laugh and I know she loved her uncles music. It was an honor singing to Jesus at her life celebration. Her ear to ear grin will be missed. Now, continue to love your family in Heaven, Terri. See again some day.

Her time with us was cut short by this ugly monster called cancer.

The service was beautiful and having my brothers sing I am sure made Terri very happy.  And being surrounded by so many family and friends made me very happy.

She always made me smile, even when she was fussing at me for not doing something the way that she wanted it 💕
