Shelly Ann Persson, 54, passed away on November 21, 2024, in Covington, LA, after a 6-year battle with cancer. Born on March 29, 1970, Shelly was known for her caring and loving nature, and she brought light and love to everyone she knew.
Shelly graduated from Osceola High School in Seminole, FL, and continued her education at Southeastern University of Louisiana. She dedicated her early career to hairdressing from 1988 until 2004 and later worked in Financial Aid from 2007 to 2010. Shelly was devoted to her sisterhood at the Church of the King in Mandeville, LA.
Shelly adored her family and friends most of all and knew how to live life to the fullest. Her life was rich with hobbies that ranged from traveling to whitewater rafting to decorating and crafts. She had a special talent for making holiday wreaths and enjoyed cooking and playing with her grandchildren.
Shelly is survived by her parents, Linda and Mike Wampler; her husband, Peter Persson; her children, Kailey (Caleb) Dixon and their children Kaelyn and Kyla, Dylan (Natalie) Persson and their daughter Mia, and Phyllis (Heather Sheridan) Wampler and their children Phyllis and Callie. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Phyllis Wampler, and Elmo and Loraine Hendricks.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:30 AM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow the services in St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Special to Shelly, instead of flowers, Shelly loved planters and greenery to have after a funeral.
