Rita I. Dauterive

Rita I. Dauterive, age 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2022 after suffering a stroke in mid April. She was born on July 5, 1949 in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph and Louise (Larsen) Imbraguglio. Rita is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Allen Louis Dauterive; her two children Michael Allen Dauterive (Shelly) and Scott Louis Dauterive (Jessica); and three grandsons, Brenden Michael Dauterive, Brady Kyle Dauterive and Ethan Scott Dauterive.

Rita was a native of New Orleans where she graduated from F.T. Nichols in 1967 and attended UNO. Rita got married in 1974 and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she lived until 2005. After Hurricane Katrina, Rita relocated to Covington where she enjoyed retirement with her husband, working community events at Lakeshore High School and watching soap operas. She loved to volunteer her time planning events with Archbishop Hannan High School. Rita was a devout Lutheran, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to travel with her husband, collect Hallmark items, spend time with her grandchildren doing puzzles, and devote her time to her faith. She also loved to laugh, sample different cuisines, and frequently visit local establishments along the Mississippi gulf coast.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will take place in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 9:00 AM.
