Janice is survived her children Michael Davis and Catherine Davis Abraham (Martin); three grandsons Rhett (Maria), Hunter (Amanda), and Cole (Rachel) Abraham; and five great-grandchildren Grayson, Brady, Arya, Brooks, and Kent. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Janice is preceded in death by her beloved husband Oliver Davis, Jr., her parents, and siblings.
Janice was born and raised in New Orleans, where she had a traditional Italian upbringing. Her father and grandfather owned a grocery store on Uolla Street, where Janice spent much of her childhood. She graduated from Academy of the Sacred Heart, and later earned her nursing degree. She enjoyed bowling and it was at Paradise Lanes where she met her husband, Oliver Davis, Jr. They were married in 1959 and shared a beautiful life together.
Janice dedicated 41 years of her life to nursing, making a difference in the lives of countless patients. Her passion for taking care of others was unmatched. For 20 years, she worked in orthopedics and pediatrics at West Jeff Hospital on the Westbank. After relocating to Mandeville in 1989, she transitioned to a career in home health.
Janice was an active parishioner at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and served on their St. Joseph Altar Committee.
A funeral service to honor Janice's life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Grace Funeral Home located at 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 12:00 Noon, officiated by Fr. Dan Dashner.
Burial will follow the services in Mandeville Cemetery under the direction and care of Grace Funeral Home.
