George is survived by his beloved wife, Jean (Hock) Rehage; his children Debra Rehage, Diane Weiss (Bud), Karen Fisse (Sonny), Stacy Verret (Jason) and Sam Rehage (Tara); his 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Judith Provenzano and his sister-in-law Loyce Rehage.
George is preceded in death by his parents, his sons George Rehage, Jr. and Michael Rehage, Sr., and his brother John Rehage, Sr.
After his Honorable discharge from the Navy Reserves, George began his 35 year career with South Central Bell, now known as AT&T. His devotion to community service was well noted by his time serving as President of the Telephone Pioneers of America, which included work for Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics of Louisiana; in addition George was a volunteer mentor for Junior Achievement. In his spare time, George was an amazing carpenter, and in his retirement his skills led him to open his own handyman business with his son Sam. George was a mentor to members of his extended family, and was a positive influence to so many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM, with words of remembrance beginning at 12:45 PM. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, beginning at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of George may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Donations may be either mailed to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or can be made at www.¬lovetotherescue.org .
