Clara Canzoneri Miller, age 94, of Covington, LA passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022 with her daughter and caregivers by her side. She was born on January 22, 1928 in New Orleans, LA to Maria Giuseppa “Josephine” (Bavido) and Ferdinand P. Canzoneri.
Clara is survived by her daughter Valerie F. Miller and her grandsons Kyle T. Derrington and Kevin A. Derrington. She is also survived by numerous nieces Amy (Michael) Cox, Gail (Jac) Schmidt, Gina (Scott) Scheuermann, nephews Barry Canzoneri, Gary Canzoneri, Mark (Lisa) Hava, Mark Canzoneri, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Clara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Joseph Wm. “Buddy” Miller, Jr., her daughter Pamela D. Miller Derrington, her sister Laura Mae Canzoneri Hava, her brother Joseph F. Canzoneri, as well as her parents.
Clara is a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School New Orleans, LA. Clara enjoyed a 25-year career with the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana during which she had the opportunity to work with many Episcopal Bishops, including The Rt. Rev. Girault M. Jones, The Rt. Rev. Iveson B. Noland and The Rt. Rev. James B. Brown. As a resident of Christwood Retirement Community since 2006, Clara’s senior years were full of loving relationships with many friends and the Christwood staff.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Grace Funeral Home Covington, LA from 10 AM to 12 Noon followed by the Memorial Service beginning at 12 Noon with The Rev. Robert Beazley officiating.
Inurnment will take place at Metairie Cemetery, All Saints Mausoleum on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
