Betty is survived by her beloved children Darwin Miller (Dawn) of Mandeville and Darrick Miller of Minnesota; and 3 grandchildren Chris (Emily) Miller, Galesburg; Tim Miller, Mandeville; Robert Miller, Minnesota and four great grandchildren; Bradley, Nathan, Morgan & Reuben. She is also survived by Victoria Blissit, Galesburg, a foster child she later adopted as well as a sister, Lora and two brothers, Tom and Gary. In addition to her parents, and husband, Betty was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Jonathon, Jeffrey and Amie, daughter-in-law Dianna Miller, sisters Lois and Karen and brothers Ed, Robert, Lester, and Ronald.
Betty spent most of her working years as a special education bus driver. Later in life she became a foster parent to several medically fragile and special needs children. Betty is remembered by many families for her over the top decorating for Christmas, music for the children on her bus and crafts that she made for them.
Betty was a lifelong Christian and attended churches in Iowa, Illinois, Florida and Louisiana.
A celebration of life will be Thursday April 18th, 2024 at 5:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, 1247 S Farnham St, Galesburg, IL 61401; followed by fellowship dinner at Galesburg Christian School, 1881 E Fremont St, Galesburg, IL 61401. Internment will take place at the Rock Island Arsenal where she will join her husband in eternal rest.
