Julia Moya Jaime was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Julia will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Julia was born on April 25, 1914 at home in Chihuahua, Mexico. She was the daughter of Jesus and Maria. Julia grew up in Mexico and the US (LA).
Julia was raised with three siblings. She had one older sister, Elena, one younger sister Mary and one younger brother Jess. Julia was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, Julia had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. In her spare time she liked embroidery and sewing. However, to Julia, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Julia enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were her family. Later in life, she became friends with her husband.
On September 1, 1935 Julia exchanged wedding vows with Alfredo Jaime at Our Lady of Lourdes Church of Los Angeles, California. Empathic and loyal, Julia was committed to making her new family happy.
Julia worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Julia was blessed with four children, one son Rudy and three daughters Elena, Edna and Irene.
Fortunately, Julia enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Julia worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was seamstress. She was employed for 40 years at various location. Julia always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Julia enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were crocheting, crosstitch, ceramic doll making, general arts and crafts and piano. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Julia found pleasure in sports. Recreational sports included bowling. Julia was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Tops on her list were baseball - Go Dodgers!
Julia’s faith was important to her. She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church for many years and Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 17 years.
Julia passed away on October 25, 2011 at Emeritus in San Dimas, California. She is survived by her 3 daughters and spouses, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Julia was laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello, California.
Simply stated, Julia was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Julia leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Juli
