COOMBES, Stanley – (June 18, 1944 to July 9, 2016) with deep sadness we announce Stan’s passing at his home in Bowmanville, ON. Beloved husband of Alice Coombes (nee Holloway), and leaves to mourn 3 daughters, 1 son, 2 stepsons, 5 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. Stan is survived by his twin brother Peter (Avril) of Liverpool, England. Predeceased by his parents Stanley Albert and Alice (nee Hayes) Coombes, and siblings John, Gordon, Harry, Marjorie, Ronnie, Olwen and Glenys. Stan came to Canada in the early 1970’s following his service with Her Majesties Grenadier Guards, and retired from General Motors in 2008. Friends will be received at Courtice Funeral Chapel, 1587 Highway 2, Courtice, ON (905-432-8484), from 12 p.m. until service at 1 p.m. Saturday July 16, 2016.
