The northern-most Lanthiers, my Mom Doreen, myself and my wife Kathy, and Louise and Richard, and Randall, all extend our deepest condolences to Aunt Carole and the family.  We are sorry we are unable to be there in person. 

Uncle Mickey (as we always called him) has left far too soon.  Mom says she remembers Mickey, as a young guy, staying with her and Dad on weekends in Kapuskasing after they were just married, and when Mike worked up north on one of his first jobs.  I remember him especially as he appears in his younger days in the photos in the Gallery  those days when the Lanthier Clan would gather in North Cobalt and there would be some 30 to 35 aunts, uncles and all the kids coming and going in a constant whirlwind around Grandma Lanthier.  The hordes of grandkids would run amuck, the decibel level in the house would increase, and as the day advanced (and the card games began) it became crazy-noisy.  That so many of us in the family were together was also the most memorable thing about those gatherings.  Uncle Mickey always seemed to be so quiet, calm and reserved in the midst of all this mayhem, probably all the more so because the rest of the gang was always so loud.  His distinctive laugh was something that I remember as a kid.  As the years went by, although we saw him only occasionally, I grew to realize that Uncle Mickey's gentle laugh and reserved mannerisms were, for the most part, really characteristic of all the Lanthier siblings.  I think it came from Grandma.  

The photos in the Gallery speak volumes of a kind and wonderful Dad and an awesome Grandad who will obviously be missed but always remembered!  And to Aunt Cecile, who sadly remains as the last of this great North Cobalt Lanthier family, we are so very sorry for your loss and Mickey's passing and we are thinking of you as well.  

Before Dad passed away in 1996 he catalogued some of the old Lanthier family photos so I thought I would share some photos of your Mike in the Gallery, both young and old.

My condolences to the whole family on the passing of Mike. I worked with Mike in Stamping and he was a great person to work with. He always came in with a positive attitude and always greeted you with a smile. He always had stories to tell that showed that he was a family man and had a lot of respect for his family. Thank you for sharing your photos, they brought back some great memories.

We will miss you deeply Uncle Mike. The world will never be the same without your smile and laugh. The photos are beautiful memories of a wonderful life with his family!
