Barely a day goes by when we do not think of Ken and remember all the great times at the cottage with the Wilkes clan.   Ken was always generous and kind and funny.  We have missed his quirky  humor and his great sense of fun.  We're quite sure he is keeping the Angel's in stitches.

I did not know Ken well, meeting him just once in person. But I “knew” of him professionally. He was an inspiration.y condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. 

I never met Ken in person but I spent a lot of time with him on the phone while we do his bookkeeping.

I know from the sound of his voice that he is a Character.  He is full of energy and positivity!

So sorry to hear this.  My name is Monica Szabo and I served on the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals with Ken.  His knowledge, gruff exterior with that gem of a hidden softy side and willingness to mentor are what I remember with fondness.  My sincere condolences to Ken's family.

Ken hired  me in 1998 as a safety consultant when he and Abraham partnered with Workplace Compensation and Safety Consultants. 
It was my first safety  position coming out of the Humber College Safety Engineering Technology program, coordinated by Jim Montgomery.
Ken was a mentor and  friend, and will be missed by many including myself. 
Our industry has lost a safety leader however his teachings will last for ever.

It was an honour to have known him. My deepest condolences. He will be greatly missed. 

He was a competitor, friend, colleague and comrade in one package. We served on the ACRSP (BCRSP) Board in the 90's and worked on many important initiatives together. He was above all else; a good person. We respected each other enough to ensure we were always doing well. Like many on the Board during that era, we created an environment for our Association and designation to flourish and grow. His passing is a shock. Safety has lost an all-star.

Ken gave me my first big H&S opportunity and taught me so much. We always stayed in touch and recently caught up the beginning of March. I wish I could have thanked him for everything he did for me. Thinking about you and your family. Rest in peace. 

Ken hired me 35 years ago and gave me my first health & safety job. He always had a smile, an opinion and a story to tell. He will be remembered for his charm and whit. I wish him peace & good will in heaven. 

Hello. My name is Ed Miller. I am a CRSP and had the honor of serving on the BCRSP Board with Ken. Over the years our relationship became such that I referred to him as "Dad" and he would call me "Son".  I do not think that anyone who met or who had the opportunity to work with Ken could ever forget that "Gruff" exterior surrounding an enormous heart. He was an unpretentious individual whose honesty and integrity was never nor could it ever be questioned. His efforts, both in his work and as a CRSP Board member contributed, in no small way, to the safety of thousands of workers in Canada. I have missed seeing "Dad" and our conversations. My condolences to the extended Wilkes family on your loss. Rest assured that he will be missed by many others.   Ed

Ken will be missed his funny ways and caring nature. 
He was my favorite brother in law. 
I remember one time when we were young, I think Chris and Ken had just gotten married. He always pulled practical jokes on me, so one day I decided to get back at him and put raw eggs in his boots, needless to say he was not impressed, but it became a great memory for both of us over the years.
He was there for us when we lost Ernie,  We will be forever grateful.
I love you and will miss you.

I met Ken when I started working out of the DCC in Whitby in 2010. He immediately treated me like I was one of his own, and am happy we were able to stay in touch even though I moved on two years later. Was thrilled to sit beside him at the Regional Chair luncheon in February to catch up. Love to all his family, of whom he couldn't stop praising about xo

We knew Ken through membership in Long Sault Flying Club.  He was a generous person, with a jovial laugh!  It is  very sad to lose our President so suddenly and unexpectedly.

Ken will be missed always on hand when my son Mitchell hurt himself. Including the time when he broke his ankle lent Mitchell his cane to walk home. We'll miss seeing him on the front bench.

It was always a grand time when Ken was in the room, or on the trip.  How can forty years have already sped by?  My sincere condolences to Chris and the family, and to all Ken's dear friends.

Mr. Wilkes was always a kind and funny man.
I first met him at Avis Car Rentals in 2001, where I always did my best to hold on to his favorite car. To him becoming family when his grandaughter Kim married my son Codey. To working with him at Bob Hendricksen Construction Ltd. Where my work family met him and loved his antics as much as I did.
Mr. Wilkes, you always had a way of making people feel like they had known you forever. 
You will be terribly missed but always in our memories.
