I could’ve never asked for a better father, bestfriend, and #1 supporter ever. I miss you everyday and it’s been tough without you I can’t lie. 
       I remember when I had to pick either competitive dance or competitive soccer. You made me pick soccer and I wouldn’t change my choice for the world. You made me fall in love with the sport I play today and it’s been hard playing without you in the stands. None of this has felt real since my game in Ottawa 2 weeks ago when I didn’t receive the “goodluck bud, I wish I could be there, I love you so much” text that you would send me all this year, and when I didn’t get that text it hit me that you weren’t here and I felt like empty and I couldn’t play without tears streaming down my face. Every-time I step onto the field I think of you and I wanna try my best to go far in soccer like we talked about, even if it’s hard without you here. I never imagined losing you and it’s been painful and I just wish you were still here with me and this was all a nightmare and in a pinch you would be back. Memories: Every Christmas we would bring out the mini race track and race cars, that was my favourite thing to do around the holidays since I was 4 •We would always listen to our song that we shared on the way back from school “Imagine” by John Lennon.
Liverpool games and sharing the joy of watching them win at the local pub near by since I was 8
•Going out for fish and chips when I was little every time mom would work late•Getting Gino’s on the way back from school on dance night and you giving me money for the gum ball machine almost every time.•Blasting thunderstruck by AC/DC in the car on the way to games • When we first got our hot tub and put our hands in the concrete slab in the backyard, that is still there•Every single dance recital at your old high school you would point yourself out in the pictures like you haven’t already showed me 100x before😂

Although I only knew Chris for a short time at OPG, our conversations were meaningful and .. just plain fun! Chris’ aura filled with energy and felt when in his presence, and that energy contagious; walking away with a smile from something we just laughed at. Really really really nice guy who will be missed by so many. My condolences to family, friends, and everyone who cared about Chris and those he cared about. Rest in peace!

I remember when Chris and Jo and the family moved in at mallory street across from our house when I was young and I remember how young the girls were before they moved to sleeman sq and I remember every moment I had with Chris and family and I will never forget it, this man loved his family and would do anything for them and I believe that is why we grew close. He slowly became a mentor to me about life in general, someone I could talk to and share things with. Chris and I haven't been friends for the longest time. I had known him through work way before we became friends though.  I am so glad we did form  a close friendship. He was always someone I could count on.
 We have had some great times together that I will remember the rest of my life. The fondest being his 40th birthday party and the ugly sweater Christmas parties over the years! He will be missed dearly by myself and Marsha.

Today we celebrated your life - one that was so dear and special to so many. You were a wonderful friend and neighbour to us for 12 years. We made so many memories that we’ll cherish forever. I know that the street won’t be the same without you. We still look on the porch for our morning greetings. 
Our girls adored you, you were always so good to them and treated them like family. 
We’ll always remember your kindness, generosity, sense of humour and contagious laugh. 
You were always there to lend a hand with projects around the house and help out whenever you could.  You taught Joey a lot over the years and I know he is truly grateful for that. He’ll carry on the green lawn legacy and make you proud.

Today is going to be a tough one buddy.  Seeing all those photos yesterday brought back a wave of memories and emotions I never knew where there.   Till we meet again brother.

I didn’t know you as Chris many years ago, rather  by the name of “Myrtle” to our mutual friends from Bowmanville! I partied a few times with you up at the Trailer park in Buckhorn, and always knew you were one of the good ones! Joanne was always such a passionate and heart warming woman who deserved an amazing man in her life, and I’m so happy you found each other! Your girls will forever hold the amazing memories you made together close to their hearts, and will forever miss you! RIP Myrtle!

Although I have not seen Chris for some time, I still remember and can visualize his big smile and energy whenever I saw him.  He was extremely caring and kind to those around him.  I remember him discussing ideas with me on how we could help market the office and excitedly bringing information to share.  I feel fortunate to have met Chris and to have watched his relationship grow with Joanne.

I know how much he meant to his family and friends.  He will be missed, but I am sure he is in peaceful place looking over everyone.

It was always a pleasure to see Chris at the games and he was as passionate about LFC  in the support he gave to the team every week  and his role in the OLSC.

Although we lost touch over the years, I did manage to speak with Chris during the final stages of his courageous battle.  Friends since middle school we tore up the town, ravished the bush parties, spent endless quarters at the arcade and filled up on 1+1 pizza.   The  memories that you and I made over the years beginning way back in your Chevrolet chevet days are untouchable.  I am pretty sure you even had a song for us that was based upon best friends having each others back.  This is a hard one to swallow Chris.  I am so incredibly sorry and heartbroken for your family and friends.  The world has lost a great man.  Heaven is waiting for your blessing buddy.

I am very sorry for your loss. Although I haven’t seen Chris in 20+ years, I will always remember him being a great guy who helped me through some personal stuff in high school that meant a lot to me.

Chris was an easy guy to like. He always spoke well about others, and was genuine to the core. I enjoyed our chats, particularly around soccer and his love of watching Chloe play. He liked my humour so made for a great audience to try my dad jokes, as well as the saltier ones! Chris was genuine and kind, so I was lucky to have met him.

I am so sorry for your loss. Chris truly was the life of the party, with his infectious laugh that could brighten any room. He had a unique way of welcoming everyone with open arms and a beer in hand, making us all feel at home. His spirit and warmth will be deeply missed.

First experience with Chris……At Nick and Caroline’s wedding. Long story short…at the end of the night (all feeling quite good of course) he and Joey staggered out of the hall with cases of beer and …… smash!!! All over the place 😂 
So many memories made during Covid when we all got to know each other in the Jackson-Smitton backyard and during all of the get togethers that we weren’t supposed to have. Lol! I know those were Chris’s favourite memories of our group 💕

As members of Chloe’s soccer family, Michelle, Kennedy, and I have had the pleasure of getting to know Chris and Joanne over the past two years. We have spent countless hours together watching our girls reach for their soccer dreams. Chris loved soccer, but watching Chloe play the sport he loved brought him tremendous happiness and the ceremonious glow of a proud father. One momentous achievement was watching Chloe and her team win the EDP Spring Classic Championship in February. Chris had the opportunity to celebrate Chloe at her finest. A moment forever engraved in his and Chloe’s heart.

We were so sad to hear the passing of Chris, we were also able to be part of his journey with his battle with cancer and know that he is free from his pain now. Our prayers are with Joanne and his girls and know that we are always here if you need anything Joanne ❤️

Hey Chris, I never met you but I know your wife as a former high school student of mine and I know what a great woman she has grown to become. I’m honoured that she’s allowed me to follow her on Facebook and so I can see what an amazing mom she is. While you rest, you’ll know that your girls will be well cared for and so hopefully that offers you comfort. You will be missed and always loved.

Chris & Joanne were some of the first to welcome us to the neighbourhood a few years ago - D’Arcy and I will never forget it. They were so friendly and welcoming. Our hearts are broken for the entire family. You all are in our thoughts.

I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Chris. As the maid of honor at Joanne and Chris’s wedding, it was truly an honor to be a part of their journey. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to Joanne, Chloe, Mackenzie, and everyone who knew him.

Christopher I remember February 6th 1980 like it was yesterday, and I will always remember the joy of being your godmother.  You had the cutest red hair and always a big smile on your face all the time.  You were raised by two amazing parents my brother John and Carol, you had the brotherly love of 3 brothers.  And the love from many aunts, uncles and 11 cousins may you rest in peace and always remember you were loved by many people.  I did not get to say goodbye but one day I'll say hello.

I remember battling cancer myself and Chloe was just a baby and if Joanne went out, which was very rare, and Chris had issues, he would call me for help and I would load up my 3 kids and drive over to give him a hand. He was always very accepting of me and my family. I’m not sure he really had a chance since Joanne and I grew up together and have been a part of each other’s lives for our whole life. I loved Chris as a brother-in-law as Joanne is my sister from another mister!! You are all my family! Always have been and always will be.
