Mom was born June 24th, 1938 in Miller's Passage, a small fishing village on the south coast of Newfoundland. She loved living by the ocean. When she graduated from school she became a teacher and taught in a small fishing village. Then she moved to a nearby port town to teach. Mom fortunately met a young Mountie, John Middleton who had just arrived in town after his recruit training. They resided at the same boarding house and soon started a relationship that was filled with love and much happiness. They married in October of 1956.
Over the years they moved to Yarmouth, N.S. where they welcomed their daughter Terry(Tammy); then to Burnaby, B.C. where their sons John(Jack)and Murray(Kevin) were born; then to Ottawa, Ont. where son Kent was born; and lastly they settled in Saskatoon, Sask. Mom loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking, knitting, cross stitch and sewing for family and being involved with her church community. Later, Mom attended SIAST and became a library technician. She went on to work in her field for 15 years.
Over the years, Mom and Dad enjoyed and had so many fond memories of times spent with family and friends. Mom and Dad lived in Saskatoon until Dad's passing in 2007. After Dad's passing Mom continued to enjoy travelling to other countries and visiting with family and friends. In 2011 Mom moved to Comox, B.C. to be near her daughter. For 11 years she enjoyed her condo life, with views of the ocean and glacier.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Bertha and Aloysius Quann and her five siblings William, Jonathon(in infancy), Emily Tenwolde, Mildred Smedley MacLeod and Raymond. Mom's life was greatly changed in a short period of time when brother Bill died in (2006),then Dad died (Feb 2007), then her two sisters to whom she was very close died, Millie (Dec 2009) and Emily (May 2010) and then the sudden passing of her son Kevin (Aug 2010).
