A fantastic mother and a wonderful person, Leslie began her life as the daughter of Alfred and Ruby Duplain on March 23, 1938 in Victoria, British Columbia. There she met her husband Douglas, who was also born and raised in Victoria. They were married on March 7, 1958. They began life in Comox, where Douglas was stationed as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. As a military family, they moved frequently, to Summerside, PEI, back to Comox, then to Winnipeg, before returning to retire in their beloved Comox.
Leslie enjoyed a career in retail sales and devoted herself to the care of her husband, children, and extended family. Her friends were many and they knew her as a kind, empathetic and generous person, with an infectious laugh and endearing smile. We will all miss her.
A celebration service will be held at Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home at 440 England Avenue in Courtenay, British Columbia on Monday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m.
