Laurie grew up and raised her family in Vancouver. Laurie and Dick retired to the Comox Valley. She really enjoyed living on Vancouver Island.
She had a great love of crafting, painting, knitting and sewing. She was especially fond of babies and was known to whip up a baby quilt for friends and family.
While raising a family, Laurie was active in Beaver (Scouts) and then Girl Guides where she earned the nickname "Vanilla Bottle". Volunteering continued in retirement where she offered her sewing expertise at the local community center and with the Comox Valley Senior Peers program.
She had fond memories of her travels to Scotland, and often spoke of her favourite places to visit. She always stayed in touch with those that touched her life, whether near or abroad.
The family wishes to thank the staff at North Island Hospital Comox Valley, Casa Loma Seniors Village and the team at Aitken Hospice Ocean Front Village.
A celebration of Life with family and friends will be held in South Delta, October 10, 2023.
