James "Jim" John Dillon

He was born in Toronto, ON in 1955. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou; his children Jessica (Jeff), Jason (Karli) and Matthew; his grandchildren Elaina, Kensie, Caleb and Lewis; his siblings Dorothy Ann (Ron), Lynn, and Mary Jane; in-laws Gail (Bob), Liz (Dave), Pauline (Doug), Joy and Roy (Gloria); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

As a young man he apprenticed at the Globe & Mail as a Journeyman Pressman. In 1988 he moved to the Comox Valley with his wife and young family. This was a dream come true and he enjoyed many happy times fishing and camping in the back woods. Jim worked at the Nanaimo Daily News for roughly 20 years in the trade he loved. He was a proud Union Representative and served for many years. Jim had a passion for fighting for his fellow Union brothers and help negotiate several contracts. He also was a prankster and loved to get one over on his fellow co-workers and friends. Jim was a loving and caring person who was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents Muriel and Jack, and grandson Mason Thomas.

Heartfelt thanks go out to Dr. McLaughlin and her amazing staff, Dr. Hopwood, Comox Home and Community Care Nursing and Care Aides. Without you Jim could not have had his last wish come true to stay at home.
