Harper spent his earliest years growing up on Denman Island, and then the family moved to a property along the Courtenay River.
Harper met Ann Vowles in Union Bay, BC. They married in 1954 and made their home in Campbell River. Growing up on the island, it was only natural that he would become a life-long logger and outdoorsman.
Harper was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his best friend and loving wife of 68 years, Ann, his daughter Frances (Arvid), his son Darrell (Sue), daughter Heather (Terry), and son David. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Byron, Darren, Morgan, Reid, Nigel, Allison, Tanner, Tay-lee, and Jordan as well as great-grandchildren Liam, Emma, Wyatt and Jolene.
We would like to thank the staff of the Campbell River Hospital emergency department, Dr. LeBeuf, and the staff of the 3rd floor medicine unit, who took good care of him during his stay.
There will be a Celebration Of Life planned for the Summer.
