It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, husband, and brother on January 6th, 2018. A life well lived up to his 92nd year. Fred grew up in Courtenay a descendent of a pioneer family in the Comox Valley. He had a love for horses instilled by his father and a love of music instilled by his mother. After a few years in the navy he married Marguerite and began a long career in the federal service. He continued to pursue performing in various bands. More so when he returned to the Comox Valley in retirement. We will miss his stories and narratives of growing up in the valley. Thank you Fred for gracing us with your talent and love. Fred is predeceased by his parents Blodwen and Reese Rogers, and his brother Norman Rogers. He is survived by his wife Marguerite Rogers, brother Raymond Rogers (Elsie), sister Iris Fowler, daughters Margo Roberts (George), and Gale Britten (Dan), grandson Patrick Britten. A special thank you to Dr. Swanson and all the care givers. A celebration of life will be held at the Courtenay Legion on February 10th from 1 – 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
