Wayne was born May 20, 1948 in Comox and lived his whole life in Merville.
Wayne was known for enjoying a good laugh, often teasing friends and family. He loved working with his hands, crafting projects out of wood. Wayne was always lending a hand to friends and family. Wayne's passion though was his farm and his childhood sweetheart Sharon to whom he was married for 50 years. He was a driver for Dairyland for 34 years until his retirement in 2000 to operate his own delivery trucking business and farm fulltime.
Wayne is predeceased by his parents Dennis and Louise Jackson and his uncle Stan Down.
Wayne is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Cheryl (Andrew), son Duane (Lydia), brother Gordon (Stephanie), grandchildren Craig, Ryan, Tannin, Levi, and Piper as well as his nieces Christine and Catherine and many friends and neighbors.
A memorial open house tea will be held Monday January 6th from 1 - 4 pm at Piercy's Funeral Home in Courtenay.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society of Nanaimo would be appreciated.
