Susan Basil

Susan Basil, 65, passed away in Long Beach on September 19, 2013. She was born in Los Angeles, California on November 23, 1947 to Harold and Barbara Roman. She married Dr Sherwin Basil, and spent many years managing the office in his medical practice. Susan was also a homemaker, raising four children. She was a lifetime member of Hadassah and ORT.

Susan was the ultimate balabusta – she was the glue that held us all together. Susan was a devoted daughter, a caring sister, a loving wife, a wonderful mom, a proud Nonna, a loyal friend, and an excellent office manager. Throughout her life, Susan showed unmatched bravery and strength of character. Knowing and loving Susan has enriched our lives, and she will be deeply missed. With love, honor, and respect, we wish she may forever rest in peace.

Susan is survived by her husband, Sherwin; her four children, Adam, Jessica, Joshua, and Sara; six grandchildren; her father, Harold Roman; and her sisters, Nancy Samaan and Deborah McLean.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013, 2:00 PM at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Chapel, in Costa Mesa, California. The burial will follow at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
