December 21, 1932 – September 5, 2010
Roberta and her twin Robert were born December 21, 1932, to Peter A. Stephani and Charlotte Ellen (Bradford) Stephani in Fort Benton, Montana. In 1938, the family moved to the Bitterroot Valley in western Montana. Roberta attended school in Corvallis, Montana, and graduated in 1951. After graduation, she worked for a dry cleaning business in Hamilton, Montana, and later she worked as a bank teller in Missoula, Montana.
In 1953, she met Norman Quiring and they were married in December 1953. They resided in Montana until 1959, when the family moved to Costa Mesa, California. Roberta was a full-time housewife until the youngest of five children was in Junior High School. She then went to work as a baker for the Newport Mesa Unified School District School and retired in 1989.
Roberta was known for her giving, warm heart and marvelous baking skills. She was a person who could truthfully say she had never met a person she did not like. She was a long time member of the Family Christian Church in Costa Mesa. Roberta had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready to help out. She said the only thing in life she wanted to be was a wife and mother and she excelled at both.
Roberta passed away peacefully at Autumn Years, an Alzheimer’s board and care facility in Costa Mesa, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin brother. She is survived by Norman, her husband of 56 years, and their children, Kenneth Quiring, Donald Quiring, Doris Hammarsten, Bernard Quiring and Barbara Sakamoto, her grandchildren, Garrett, Jared, Adam, Sara, Leilani, Rockelle, Cameron, Meaghan, Kristin, Robert, Daniel, Keila and Brendan and her great grandchildren Braydan, Karrisma, Aiden, Elijah and Cole.
