Patricia Elizabeth Stanton age 75 of Garden Grove, CA, passed away on Saturday, April 21st, 2018. She was the only daughter of Lyle and Dorothy Spaulding, born on September 19th, 1942. Known to her friends and family as “Patsy” she was born and raised in Burlington, Vt., where she attended Burlington High School. Patsy and her twin brother Pat were inseparable and remained so no matter how far apart they were. Being the only girl in the house, she was a bit of a tomboy and truly adored by her older brothers Lyle Jr, Lynn and Paul. Over the years she enjoyed many trips back home, and it was a pleasure for any of us lucky enough to join her. Hearing her stories about Battery Park, Church Street, Charley Dogs; it was like you were there with her.
Patsy loved the holidays, surprising her kids and grandkids with a lavishly decorated home and surprises around every corner. Her heart and home was always open to everyone. Christmas was by far her favorite holiday pulling out all the stops. Always ready to welcome anyone, everyone had a gift, her closet was bottomless as was her desire to make everyone’s Christmas special.
Patsy was the mother of 11 children, and a foster parent to numerous children for over 25 years. She was a “homemaker”, the noblest of careers.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband Harry Stanton, her brother Patrick Spaulding, her children Dorothy, Mark, Laura, Michelle, Kimberly, Kassandra, Angela, Vincent, Gabriel, and Eddie her grandchildren Patrick, Christopher, Laura, Lyn, Brian, Skylar, Riley, Drew, Sytira, Spencer, Aliyah, Ivy and Liza, her great-grandchildren Landon, Bryan and Isabella.
