Michael Anthony Martinez was born in Santa Ana, California on January 14th, 1995 to Ana and Miguel Martinez. He was a commanding presence even at a young age surrounded by plenty of loving aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins. He took his first steps on his first birthday and after that had his parents chasing after him from one adventure to the next. He enjoyed trying new things and was always ready to take on the big kid slide or go on the biggest roller coaster. Soon he was joined by his younger sister Victoria who he fiercely protected and became a role model for. Michael was smart, outgoing, and got along well with everyone he met, making others laugh easily. Michael attended Sonora Elementary before moving onto Davis Elementary and Eastbluff Elementary. Growing up he played soccer, baseball, swimming, lacrosse, football, and basketball, always being an excellent team player. Growing up we enjoyed family road trips to Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas, with Michael leading the way as the designated “direction giver”. Afterwards he graduated from Corona del Mar high school with several teacher recognition awards and traveled to University of California-Santa Barbara to study biology. He loved exploring new places on his fixie and would take his motorcycle out on cruises. He enjoyed spending time in nature and enjoyed playing sports, especially football, helping his team win two CIF Championships. He could always be counted on to challenge those around him to be their best and would always make his sisters, Victoria and Sofia, laugh with his carefree humor. We as a family know Michael is in a better place and expect to see him again soon. -The Martinez family
