He was born in Toronto, Canada on February 26, 1947 and moved to the Placentia, California with his parents and sister at the age of 7. He attended Anaheim High School, where he excelled in accounting and followed his passion in accounting by becoming an auditor.
In July 1993, Jim and Cecile were introduced to each-other by a coworker. They had both worked at the same Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank. James worked as an auditor and was promoted to Vice President. He worked at Day-Ichi Kangyo bank for 23 years and left just before its transition to Mizuho Bank. He later worked at Nara Bank as a Senior Vice President and lastly, Saehan Bank as a Senior Vice President, where he retired in 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Cecile Graham, step-children, and step-grandchildren. He helped raise Cecile’s grandchildren as his own; sharing with them his generosity, his great sense of humor and his love for sweets. He treated everyone with kindness and respect. He was loved greatly by everyone he met, and he loved meeting people.
The services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 1 PM at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary in Costa Mesa, California.
