Benjamin William Nasca was born on February 2, 1939 in Clearfield, PA. He was the second to the youngest child of Ignazio and Paolina Nasca from Sicily, Italy. Ben had two sisters, Mary and Eleanor and four brothers Anthony, Joseph, Cosimo, and Sam. After finishing school, Ben enlisted in the army where he served for three years. He was stationed in the Panama Canal and received the Good Conduct Medal. In the 1970’s he opened an Italian restaurant in Santa Ana, CA called Papa Luigi’s Spaghetti. After ten years he sold the company. He then began his work as an electronic engineer building parts for the Space Station. Ben worked for Boeing for 20 years before retiring.
Ben met his wife Yollie in 1984 through a Catholic pen pal service and soon married in San Diego, CA on April 20, 1985. They have one daughter, Jennifer who was born on May 18, 1986. Jennifer and her husband, Victor, have two children whom Ben loved dearly, Jackson and Kaylee.
For the past year he had been battling cancer but continued to remain positive and focused on his growing family. On September 23, 2015 Ben passed away in Irvine, CA surrounded by the love of his family.
Ben was loved and touched by all who met him. His kindness, compassion, and generosity were just a few of his many wonderful and obvious qualities. Ben aimed to live a simple life. He loved the Lord and made that love the center of his life. Ben enjoyed attending mass, reading, going out to eat, spending time with his family and watching movies with his son in law, Victor and dog Nico.
