William A. “Bill” Wentz, age 78, of Coshocton, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at his residence. Bill was born in Fresno, Ohio on January 23, 1939 to the late Victor and Marjorie (Grogro) Wentz. Bill graduated from Fresno High School in 1957 and then married Ruth Anne Wentz who preceded him in death in 1999.
Bill worked as a Millwright for Stone Container for 43 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, a member of the Elks Lodge, and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE). Bill enjoyed taking care of his yard, riding his tractor, landscaping, watching sports especially his Buckeyes and the Tribe; and spending time with his family, most importantly his grandchildren.
He is survived by his two children, daughter, Dawn Wentz-Clow of Westerville, Ohio and son, B.J. (Zibbi) Wentz of New Albany, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jamie Clow, Victoria Clow, Joshua Clow, Trey Wentz, and Zarin Wentz; brother, Larry (Paula) Wentz, sisters, Cheryl (Mike) Wilson, Carole (Rex) Dusenberry, and Susie (Steve) Storm; sister-in-law, Alice Wentz; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with his parents and wife, Ruth Anne, Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Victor Gene Wentz, nephew, David Wentz, grandmother, Caroline Grogro, and aunt, Oneita Hahn.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5:00 pm- 8:00pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Reverend Philip Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
